My goodness the summer is almost gone! With all this heat, I know many of us will soon be anticipating fall. We've been pretty busy despite the heat. The August calendar is shaping up, we decided to stay indoors and stay cool. Since we had such a wonderful time in Myrtle beach, we will be planning another trip soon, destination unknown... who knows? but I can guarantee it will be fun. This month our port of call will be Hawaii, we've become world travelers. For our Special Entree night our chef will prepare a Hawaiian desert, hula dancers will be on site and I'm sure there will be some lessons on moving our hips. There is always some form of entertainment going on. Our indoor seminars with our Living Well Series continues in August with a seminar on managing your diabetes and meal planning. everyone is welcome! The Carolina Highlands has been Fayettevilles best kept secret, well the secret is out. Healthy independent living with lots to do and a lifestyle you deserve. Spending too much money at the Movies? Come visit us for a movie night and popcorn. Our Media room is fully equipped with a large screen TV and this months feature is a classic, "South Pacific". It has been such a pleasure watching everyone visit with family and vacation at the beach, but its always nice to see our residents come home. Relax with us on the 12th of August for an Ice cream social at 1:30. Well sweeten up your taste buds.
Well keep you posted on whats going on. Aloha to all see you in Hawaii! Lets get ready to do the Hula

Looks like well be taking more trips aboard the U.S.S. AQUASSINO! What a great time! It was smooth sailing for the residents at the highlands and a few others that wanted to join our fun time! We made new friends, enjoyed some wonderful entertainment, danced, ate, and yes there was a little gambling going on, and I believe a BIG WINNER!. We even have a new designated driver that had so much fun he volunteered himself for our future trips. Back on shore our residents at the Highlands enjoyed an evening of dinner and song by our own Mrs Howie. Our residents will be finishing up the month with indoor activities and celebrations. We will contni=ue with our port of calls around the world and hoping to Bring Hawaii to the Highlands next month. What will we do next!
